Thank you for a wonderful introduction to structured group instruction. I believe I have enjoyed attending music class as much as my child has, and I did not imagine just how easy parent participation would be. Your natural abilities to balance audiences and maintain perfect lesson pacing is phenomenal, and your tiny-tot crowd control certainly reflects an understanding of and an appreciation for the quirky needs of children in their age group. In fact, the tip off occurred during a site visit 5 months ago when you did not try to redirect a “free agent” who had decided to twirl and whirl right in the middle of the rug and lesson! I chuckled, and my heart smiled because I knew my child would be safe in your classes.

 

Many thanks for allowing my child and I to participate in Friday morning’s “Our Time” class. I understand what you mean about an authentic on-site visit: students, relationships, expectations, presentation, and setting – all constitute a valid learning time. I also appreciate how you helped my son acclimate to the class. You treated him as a natural, regular student – not a spectacle of newness (BONUS to sit on teacher’s lap!) My son is 2.5 yrs old and has been going to Kindermusik since he was about 18 months old. I have yet to have a class where he did not gain something from it. He uses what he learns there at home, singing songs, talking about things he remembers and so on. My sons teacher, Ms. Alissa is very talented, great with the kids and is good about always telling parents why we are doing a specific movement, game, story and so on. The activities done in class are crafted purposefully to align with the age of the child and their development level. I have a minor in child development and know Kindermusik is well designed to increase our young one’s learning potential. Plus, it is FUN! We dance, read stories, play instruments, sing a LOT and over all have a good time. Kids learn simple interaction and listening skills. They are encouraged, but not forced, to pay attention – mainly because two year olds need to be given some slack in that area, but also because they want the kids to enjoy themselves. They know that just by being in the room, even the wandering child can still learn things. So, we love it and I think all kids should be involved.

 

I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate the exceptional job Alissa is doing at the Cedar Park location. With today being our last day in the Village class and promoting to Our Time next week I couldn’t help but reflect on the past 16 months. We began Kindermusik when my son was 2 months old and it is amazing to me that I already have a very active 18 month old. I attribute some of his excelled development to the early introduction of Kindermusik and the effect it has had on his cognitive, emotional, social, language and physical development. Alissa has experienced so many of my son’s early childhood milestones alongside me and I thank her for sharing in those with enthusiasm as well as arming me with additional tools and ideas of how I could further work with him at home. Many thanks to Alissa for her musicality, creativity, professionalism and overall kindness towards my son. Looking forward to the new session and additional milestones achieved! EG

 

Our daughter attended Kindermusik with Deborah for over a year and we couldn’t be happier.  She really enjoyed the curriculum and has developed an interest in music that we directly attribute to her experience in class.  Deborah is a wonderful teacher and brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom.  We look forward to enrolling our son in classes too. Thanks so much!  DS
