Welcome to the Kindermusik by Deborah Foster where highly trained and enthusiastic teachers provide small group classes in the internationally acclaimed Kindermusik curriculum.
Deborah Foster has a degree from the University of Texas in Applied Learning and Development with an early childhood specialization and a music certification. Deborah has been an early childhood teacher for 19 years including five years with the Austin Independent School District. She was licensed by Kindermusik International in 1997 and is highly trained and certified to teach all levels of the Kindermusik curriculum. Deborah is the state representative for Texas of the Partnership of Kindermusik Educators and the local representative for the Central Texas Partnership of Kindermusik Educators. Deborah feels blessed everyday to have found Kindermusik, where she is able to combine her two life passions of music and teaching young children.
Mrs. Shellie Horner has always loved music, singing, and children. She has found Kindermusik to be a wonderful outlet for sharing the gift of music. She was licensed by Kindermusik International in 2009. She has six years experience teaching in schools and over twenty years in her church’s childrens ministry. She is excited about the way Kindermusik assists in child development and fosters a life-long love of music. Mrs. Shellie and her husband have two wonderful children who share her passion for all things musical and grew up attending Kindermusik classes. She knows that the family is the child’s first and best teacher, and is here to support you by providing the best music education choice for your children. Shellie can’t wait to meet you and welcome you into one of our classes!
Alissa Floyd has been singing for as long as she can remember! There is even a tape somewhere of her singing songs from The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper” album at three years old… She has been singing in choirs since the age of nine, and currently sings in the Austin Vocal Arts Ensemble. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, and is currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Child Development. She taught Junior High and High School choir for three years before moving to Austin, taught 3-year-old preschool classes for three years, and has been teaching Kindermusik since 2010. She is so glad to be teaching Kindermusik, and she hopes to introduce each child to a life-long love of music, whether through singing, dancing, playing, or listening. She loves young children, and gets so excited when she sees the joy in them that comes from making music. Ms. Alissa lives in Cedar Park with her husband, David, son, Nathan, and their two dogs, Rocky and Lucy.
